Awnings during rain?
In Dragon brand awnings and pergolas, we use top-class impregnated fabrics from leading manufacturers: Dickson (France), Recasens (Spain), and Serge Ferrari (France).
For restaurant awnings or those used continuously / intensively, we particularly recommend Dickson fabrics with the self-cleaning MAX nano-impregnation. This significantly simplifies maintenance: it improves water beading / runoff and enhances overall water resistance.
Thanks to the supporting posts, pergola structures can handle greater water loads than standard awnings. However, in both cases, the most important thing is to ensure the cover never fills up with water like a pool.
We always recommend ordering installation at the maximum possible incline so that water can drain freely at all times.
Keep the gutter/channel in the front profile clear and unobstructed, water collecting there also creates unnecessary load that should be avoided.
Make sure the cover is fully rolled up before leaving the terrace.
We strongly recommend a wind sensor, which will automatically close the awning if it detects excessive movement of the structure. An excellent additional solution is a mobile app that lets you check the awning’s status and close it remotely from anywhere with internet access, at any time.
